Day 6 ~ It's a Kateri face!

This is my itty bitty <3 I have been Kateri's nanny since she was 4 months old.  Today she is almost 16 months old and she has gotten so big!

I look at her and I think of how tiny and wonderful and just plain perfect her little life is and I can't help but love her!

She just went on vacation for two weeks with her mom and she came back with some pretty awesome face making skills :)

Suzanne and I were trying to get her to make her fish lips face and got every other face she can make instead lol

Suzanne:  "No Kateri, make this face *makes fish lips*
Kateri:  "Wait you mean this wasn't the face you wanted?"

Her mom is teaching her some sign language symbols, this is her making the sign for when she wants something to eat or drink!  And yes, there is a face that goes with that too!

This is that face!

Day 5 ~ Only Sofia....

Could manage to get my flip flops on properly but on the wrong feet lol  I nanny for a family of 4 on Monday's and Thursdays, so today I was with all the kids.  I'm sitting down for a few minutes to read a few pages of a book and suddenly I hear "ga-ga!!!  Il-lops!"  I look down over my book and two year old Sofia is standing there so proud of herself showing me how she's wearing my flip flops!  At first I thought how cute that she got them on the with them in between the correct toes, and then I had to laugh when I noticed they were on the wrong feet :)  Two year old little girls somehow get "ga-ga" out of my name by the way!  I guess it's the Jess-i-CA part that they catch onto... I never get tired of hearing it though!

This is the face that belongs to those feet.... aren't her eyes big? :)

Day 4 ~ Just take a picture of the wall then!

I went through the whole day finding nothing inspiring to take a picture of!  I went over my parents to give them a key so that they could come over and visit Steve so he won't be alone tomorrow while I'm at work.  I tell my sister that I took about a half a dozen pictures but none that I liked to put up.  So she says "Well then take a picture of the wall why don't ya?"  And so I did!  I had thought I just wouldn't put anything up, but I knew I had to... so I went in the kitchen and took this picture!  This is a dress that was given to my mom for me when I was a baby!  A few weeks ago she brought it out of the basement when we were talking about babies and keeping stuff from whenn I was young for them!  I guess she hung it here on the basement door and so there it was, my inspiring picture :)

Day 3 ~ STEVE!!!!! HELPING!!!!

Meet Steve... well, Mogu (mushroom in Chinese) but the concensus is still that him name is Steve.  This is Steve's story!  So I was walking out of our apartment complex to go get a movie from my parents.  We live on the third floor and the balcony of the second floor apartment is right outside the door of the bulding.  A siamese cat live there and when I went out last night the siamese cat was flipping out about something!  I was like "dude chill whats you're major malfunction!"
I looked down when I saw movement, and there was this kitten!  I sat down and put my purse down and he was in my lap within seconds, purring his little face off :)  Since I was already in motion to my parents I took him with me.  I didn't know that he was a boy at the time, so on my way over I was calling him Stella hoping it would be a girl.  My mom said when I got there "I think he's a Steve!"

So Steve stayed with my family for the night.

This is Steve meeting Kateri... she is the little one that I nanny for.  Steve is so sweet and mushy and purry!

My dad threw a beanie baby at Steve, he was totally spazing out at it :)

Last but not least, Steve is special.  Steve is a Polydactyl cat.  That means that instead of 4 big toes and a little one further up his paw, his little one is regular sized and split in two.  So Steve has 6 toes on each hand :)  Here he is reacting to me telling him not to scratch the chair lol

I do not know if we will end up keeping Steve, or if that will stay his name. I love the word Mogu and Nate wants to name him after a food so that is the compromise that we came up with if he stays with us.  But my family does not like it and it is really hard not to call him Steve.  Mostly because of Steve in "Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs" if you have not seen that movie, you very much should! It would also help you understand why that is a good name for a pesky little kitten and why I titled this blog entry the way I did :) And he's also named after Steve the Wraith in Stargate Atlantis, because John Shepphard is like "I think I will call you Steve!" when he's looking at one of the Wraith they capture. Yes I'm a scifi addict I admit it lol.  I will be putting up some flyers though to see if anyone is looking for him!  He's too friendly to not belong to someone :/

Steve has currently taken over Nate's computer chair and Ramona is kinda mad at us lol  I hope she gets over it or he will have to go live with my family.  They also have two cats but they are all boys and might get along better!  Ramona is mostly mad that Steve made it into the blog before she did! ;)

Day 2 ~ My Friendly's usual :)

So, going along with the theme for day two :)  The best food I haave ever eaten in my whole life is this Crispy Chicken Wrap from Friendly's, and Nate and I made a special trip there tonight just to get one so I could take a picture of it for you guys.  If you don't have one of these places, it's just a chain dinner and ice cream place mostly in the middle East Coast.  Seemingly boring, I know, yet my all time favorite food ever if I have to name one!  Why?  My dad used to work here from the time I was 9-13 years old.  Sometimes, he would need some extra help to bus tables and roll silverwear.  My dad was the general manager mind you!  And so he would wake me up at 5 in the A.M and ask me if I wanted to go.  You would think I wouldn't want to, but nooo!  I would jump out of bed, take the worlds fastest shower and be in the car ready to go by 6!  Sometime when I was there, he would have me help run the dishwasher!  What 12 year old girl do you know who actually "wanted" to run the dishwasher and roll silverwear at a resteraunt?  Well now you know one... me!  If I could have my secret dream job with no ramifications of social mocking or money, it would be to actually be the "head dishwasher" at Friendly's :)  I also loved working it because Ms. E (Ms. Evelyn) was the sweetest old woman who was the actual dishwasher and she needed my help a lot!  I ran into Ms. E at Walmart a while back, she calls me Little Mark to this day, Mark is my dad if thats not obvious!  Now she runs her own pizza place at our local community college and I was blessed to be able to spend two years there seeing her every day as an adult!  Good memories!

Annnyways, back to the food!  My dad would make this for me every time I went.  No one has ever made this wrap like he did... even though I still choose it every time we go to eat there now, I always claim that no one can make it like my daddy <3

Day 1 ~ Nate's Pretty Flower

Nate brought me home flowers last night from work :)  But it's so much more than just flowers to me.  When we were dating, it had only been a few months, he was getting flowers and they were yellow roses.  The cashiers teased him and said "you can't give those to her, yellow means friendship"
Well... he bought them anyway and they came in the exact vase that's in this picture.  When he gave them to me he said "They tried to talk me out of it, but if yellow means friendship then that's all the more reason I should give them to you, because you're my best friend"
Ever since then, he brings me home roses every now and then and I always put them in this vase on my dresser and usually when he gives them to me he says "Flowers for my pretty flower".  I let them dry out and save them and always take pictures of them like this.  I have a whole dried roses collection on my bookshelf!  This is the first time in a while he has brought me yellow roses, they've been red the past few times!  But yellow is my favorite color, even our boquets for the wedding were yellow roses and if you look close they aren't ordinary... they look like a mix between roses and carnations!  They are beautiful and when he walked in the door I knew this would be my day one!

I'm excited about tomorrow :)  Hannah, a new friend of mine, and I decided to take on a project together to give us something to do with ourselves and not think about things so much!  We also have a bunch of other ladies that we know doing it as well!  This is just to let anyone know who isn't part of that group, what this blog is about... ya know just in case any of my friends (ahem, Lyndsay!!) decide to follow my craziness.  Anyone who is in that group. you all know why we're here lol  So a picture a day for 365 days!  That's a lot of pictures but I already have some pretty awesome ideas!  My husband just provided me with my first picture which will be posted sometime tomorrow.  I already had an idea before that, but his is better, so I will save that one for another day soon :)

Until tomorrow...

Love,

Jessica
