Day 249 ~ Happy Birthday Kateri!

It still feels like just yesterday that she was just walking and I bought her the princess bouncy ball and she could barely kick it but loved trying!  Now she runs all over the place and is talking and gets amazingly smarter every day, and can even put her little hair in a cute little sticking up pony tail now!  We had Mandy and John's today as per usual Thursday... the boys (Lucas and Paul) and I made her a cake and a birthday crown and had a mini party!

I had left over bubbles from Lauren and Joe's wedding and she was at my apartment once and was thrilled by them... so I knew what this year's present would be!  She was so insistant that I blow her bubbles all afternoon and was excited to show her mom her present when we got back... only to insist that she keep the bubbles coming!!

Day 248 ~ Just like Jessa

Today had one of those monets where you know you have a good deal of influence on a child! Kateri and I like to put on the country music channel and dance on most days. I grew up singing with my hair brush and bed knobs and anything else that resembled a microphone, and I guess I've done it a few times with their remotes and handed her one to copy me. Today we put on the music and she got all excited like she usually does and out of no where she grabs the one remote and hands it to me and says "Jessa sing" and then grabs another one and says "Me sing" She is constantly blowing me away with how smart she is, because I know it's been quite a while since I've done that on my own!

Day 247 (Wednesday April 6th) ~ The book I never read...

I was so determined to read Eat Pray Love before seeing the movie!  I tried.... I really did, even collected a few good fines on it from the library... and it's not that it wasn't an interesting book, I just never gave it the chance for me to actually get past the first few chapters!  But I finally caved and took it back to the library and put it on the Netflix list admitting defeat.  The movie actually surprised me as not half bad!  I kind of expected it to be dumb or something, but it was actually pretty good!

Day 246 ~ Random Rainbow!

Back to work for me and Suzanne today, and as always when all is in order, we write in our notebooks!  When we were deciding what to do in them, we noticed this pretty rainbow just sitting in the middle of the paper :)

Day 245 ~ Best cookies ever....

I made up the dough weeks ago, not realizing before I started that we didn't have enough flour.  I was in a bad mood so continued anyways and just put it all the flour we had, not knowing how much it actually was.  I tried making some, but they were flat as pancakes, so I froze the rest of the dough.  We bought more flour a few days ago and I finally got around to thawing the dough.  Since I didn't know how much flour I had put in before, I just put in more until I thought it *felt* like what cookie dough should feel like.  Best decision ever made.... so much better than anything store bought!

ETA: Days later, with nothing done to purposely keep them this way, they are still chewy and perfect!

Day 244 ~ sales of yards and markets of fleas....

Yesterday I noticed signs for a yard sale at the end of my parent's street and for our local elementary school's anual flea market :)  I thought to myself that I hadn't had anything good to do on a saturday in a while, nor could I rmember the last time I had been to a yard sale, so I decided I would go!  I am so glad I did!

The yard sale was small.... but.... that is where I found Grey's Anatomy, the first season on DVD, for only $1. The discs looked to be in good condition, so I was shocked when I asked how much and she said a dollar.... yesterday was also budget day so I was happy to hand over a dollar from my new stash of spending money for the month!  So excited!  And then at the flea market, I found this adorable little tweetie blanket for only 50 cents, couldn't resist :)  Suzanne found a little pink stingray and named her Stella!  Good day!

Day 244 ~ our tree at night!

This is what I've been seeing outside our bedroom window every night as I lay there trying to fall asleep!  A few days ago I got the idea that it would probably make a cool picture since it was so bright and the camera would probably catch the light perfectly!  I finally remembered to grab my camer before we were actually going to bed.  There is a street light to the left and I think it makes the tree look so awesome to look at, almost kind of mezmorizing!
